WhatsApp on Fitbit

You can easily connect your iPhone or Android device to your Fitbit smartwatch to receive, reply to, or delete messages. To do this, follow these steps:

iPhone

1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth > tap the info icon next to your Fitbit smartwatch name
2. Enable system notification sharing
3. Check that notifications are turned on

When WhatsApp notification settings are configured as follows, you’ll ensure you receive notifications (applies to any app):

• Allow Notifications: on
• Alerts > Notification Centre: on
• Show Previews: always or when unlocked

Android Devices

To receive notifications from your phone on your Fitbit smartwatch, ensure notifications for the relevant apps are enabled on your phone.

• Ensure your device can receive notifications when locked. Go to Settings > Apps and Notifications > Notifications > Notifications on Lock Screen
• To receive app notifications, ensure your phone can receive them. Go to Settings > Apps and Notifications > Notifications and look for Recently Sent
• Ensure the Fitbit app has permission to run in the background on your Android device

Notifications in the Fitbit App

• Ensure your Fitbit device is nearby and tap the Today tab > your profile photo
• Tap your device image > Notifications. Follow on-screen instructions to pair your Fitbit device with your phone and grant the Fitbit app notification access
• Tap app notifications to choose which apps you want notifications from

WhatsApp notifications will now appear on your home screen. Swipe down to read the messages. Your Fitbit smartwatch stores up to 30 messages. If you receive more, older messages will be deleted one by one.

How Do I Reply to Messages with My Fitbit Smartwatch?

With your Fitbit smartwatch, you can reply to messages using quick responses, an emoji, or a voice message. This is currently available for smartwatches paired with an Android device.

Quick responses are pre-set for supported apps that send notifications from your phone to your Fitbit smartwatch. To send a quick reply, tap the three lines in the centre.

To send a quick reply, your phone must be nearby, Bluetooth must be on, and the Fitbit app needs to refresh in the background.

Fitbit App Notifications Not Working

Notifications might not appear on your smartwatch for various reasons. If this is happening, check the following:

Check Your Device

• Your phone must be within 9 meters of your smartwatch to receive notifications.
• You won’t receive app notifications if the conversation is open on your phone. Your smartwatch shows new and unread app messages.
• You won’t receive app notifications when your phone is on Do Not Disturb, Focus, or Driving mode.

Check Your Fitbit Smartwatch

• You won’t see notifications if your smartwatch has Do Not Disturb or Sleep Mode enabled.
• Tap your smartwatch screen to see if you need to enter a password.
• Notifications are disabled on your smartwatch. See above to re-enable them.

Check Your Bluetooth Connection

• Multiple Bluetooth devices connected to your phone might weaken the connection with your smartwatch.
• The connection between your phone and Fitbit smartwatch has been lost.
• Ensure the Fitbit app has permission to run in the background on your phone.

Check for Updates

• You’ve updated your Fitbit app. Restart your phone and reset notifications.
• Your smartwatch was synchronizing. Bluetooth reception may weaken during syncing.
