Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 - 40mm Leather Crocodile Grain Strap (Green)

I bought this watch strap mid July in 2024, writing my review at the end of January in 2025. It was quite stiff initially and had some stickiness left from what I assume was glue used in manufacturing, but it didn't take long to clean and the stiffness disappeared within about a week of consistent wear.

It's comfortable and it's really nice to look at, but I have to say that I'm disappointed in how it held up over time. within a couple of weeks I had noticed some small splitting at a seam, which wasn't a problem necessarily; it didn't bother me since it didn't affect the strap functionally, but I did worry that it might be a sign of poor quality. It's been a few months of consistent daily wear, and today when I went to put my watch on in the morning, the leather nearly completely snapped off the bar connecting the strap to the watch.

It's more expensive and far less long-lasting than metal watch straps, but I suppose you're trading that for aesthetic and comfort. Personally, I don't think the trade was worth it, given that the strap lasted barely six months. Initially when buying it, I had hoped for at least two years out of it, since my old cheap metal straps were getting annoying for breaking after roughly a year each time.

I love the look and feel of leather watch straps, but I couldn't find any straps that might be made better than this one was, so I might just switch back to metal. If you're like me and you were considering switching strap to have a higher quality material that will last longer... I'd advise against this one.
