How to replace your Fitbit strap (Step-by-step guide)

Are you the proud owner of a Fitbit smartwatch and want to switch up your wristband? Follow our step-by-step guide (with pictures) on how to change your Fitbit strap!

What Fitbit smartwatch do I have?

The Fitbit smartwatch models differ quite a bit from each other. For every model there is, there is a different way of changing the watch strap. We made an overview of the most popular Fitbit smartwatches to help you swap out your wristband.

How to change a Fitbit Charge strap

For changing your Fitbit Charge strap, we've made a special video. In this video, we'll explain how to change your Fitbit Charge 3 band, Charge 4 band, and Charge 5 band.

Removing the watch strap

1. Make sure to turn around your smartwatch, with the heart rate sensor facing you.

2. On both sides of the smartwatch you’ll find a button. Use this button to detach the current watch strap. Its not necessary that you pull hard to detach the strap. Pull gently and make sure you press the button at the same time you’re pulling the watch strap.

 

Replacing the watch strap

1. When attaching the new watch strap, make sure to place the side with the buckle on the strap at the top. You can see this from the Fitbit logo at the bottom of the device.

 

2. Always check if the watch strap is attached correctly before you damage your versa 4 or 5. If it correctly attached its time to enjoy your new watch strap!

How to change Fitbit Versa strap

Changing your Fitbit Versa strap is very easy. The straps have a small slider on the back that detaches the strap.

Removing the watch strap

  1. Put the smartwatch down with the back facing up.
  2. Slide the pin to the bottom and the strap will be detached.

Do this for both sides.

Replacing the watch strap

  1. If you want to replace your watch strap, simply pull back on the pin and clip your new strap into place.
  2. Make sure to check if the new wristband is attached well to your Fitbit Versa before you start using it again.

This way your Fitbit Versa watch strap is replaced in no time!

How to change Fitbit Versa 4 strap and Fitbit Sense 2 strap

The newest Fitbit smartwatches, the Fitbit Versa 4 and the Fitbit Sense 2, have a way easier way to replace the wristband. Follow our step-by-step guide below.

Removing the old watch strap

  1. Make sure the backside of the watch is facing up.
  2. You’ll notice the Versa 4 / and Sense 2 are equipped with a button. Press this button to release the strap.

Now that the old strap is removed, it’s time to replace it with a brand-new watch strap:

Replacing the old strap is very easy to do. All you must do is gently push the new strap in the smartwatch until you hear a ‘click’. Always make sure that the strap is clicked in the smartwatch properly, so it won’t fall.

That’s it!

Note: This step-by-step guide is also applicable to the Versa 3 and Fitbit Sense. However, the wristbands for the Versa 3 and Sense are NOT compatible with the Versa 4 and Sense 2.

How to change Fitbit Inspire strap

If you want to replace your Fitbit Inspire wristband, follow this step-by-step guide!

Removing the old wristband

1. Turn around the Inspire and look for the quick release pin.

2. Gently slide the wristband away from your Inspire to release it while pushing the quick release pin inward. Do this on both sides.

Now its time to replace your wristband!

Replacing the wristband

  1. Make sure the pin (opposite of the quick release) slides into the tracker’s notch.
  2. The moment you press the quick release, slide the other end of the strap into place.
  3. Once you have inserted the pin on both sides, you can release the quick release. It is important that the strap is attached with the buckle at the top.

Done!

Now you can enjoy your new Fitbit Inspire band.
